Art. Work.

  • Westminster Press 3156 Cherokee Street St. Louis, MO, 63118 United States

Drawing from ceramics, printmaking, fiber, and weaving, “Art. Work.” examines the relationship between craftsmanship, art labor, entrepreneurship, and fine art. Featuring artists Hillary Bird, of Wabi Sabi Textile Company, Kahlil Irving, MFA candidate of The Washington University Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts, Angela Malchionno of The Enamel Project, and Kevin McCoy of WORK/PLAY, this exhibition questions why artists choose to work in labor-intensive processes and examines emererging methods of survival by art workers under the constraints of modern economics.

Join us for the opening reception of "Art. Work." on February 20th, from 6:00 - 10:00 PM. Featured work will be immediately available for purchase, with the majority of proceeds benefiting the artists. Beer, wine, and light refreshments will be provided. This event is free and open to the public.
